Here’s How the USO and RP/6 Created a ‘Movement’ in San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO—When Cedric Brown retired from the Navy, his transition to civilian life was a challenge. Now an RP/6 scout in San Antonio, Brown is helping transitioning service members, spouses and veterans avoid the hurdles he faced. He shares his personal story with every client so they know they’re not alone – and that there’s a community waiting to help them along the way.
Brown and RP/6 Site Manager Chuck Bunch, a retired airman, explained how USO San Antonio and RP/6 are gaining trust and building confidence with the service members and military spouses who walk into their offices.
“We’ve built to where it’s a community movement,” Bunch said. “We also understand that the only way this is going to be successful is to get buy-in from the community. When the community buys in … we’re going to best serve [our] military families.”
You can send a message of support and thanks directly to service members via the USO’s Campaign to Connect. Your messages will appear on screens at USO locations around the world.
Every day, America’s service members selflessly put their lives on the line to keep us safe and free. Please take a moment to let our troops know how much we appreciate their service and sacrifice.
