End of Year Reminder for Mailed Donations
The U.S. Postal Service has changed when mail is postmarked. It will no longer be postmarked at your local post office that picks up your mail.
Instead, it will be postmarked at the regional sorting facility which can be 1-3 days later than the day you mailed it.
What this means for you:
If a check is mailed after December 27, it may receive a January postmark. In that case, the donation may not qualify as a 2025 tax-deductible gift. To ensure your mailed gift is counted for in 2025, we encourage you to:
- Mail your donation prior to December 27
- Or make your gift online today and guarantee your donation is counted in 2025 and put to work immediately for our service members
Thank you for your generosity and for standing with the service members and families who rely on the USO.
