Orlan serves as Vice Chair of Life Sciences and Reinvention Executive Advisory at Accenture. He is a proven catalyst, connector and convener deeply committed to bringing people and organizations together to bring about purpose-driven fundamental change and global impact across the healthcare, life sciences and tech ecosystem. He has served as Senior Client Partner and Senior Advisory Partner to many Fortune 50 companies. Over the past three decades he has held senior leadership and board roles in business, media, politics, public service, nonprofits, and philanthropy as a senior partner and executive at Accenture, EY and Deloitte, entrepreneur, venture capital investor, award-winning film producer, author, presidential appointee, public servant, philanthropist, and member of several boards.
His consulting career spans corporate and commercial strategy, corporate governance, growth, innovation, digital, technology, human capital, talent, change management, operations, transformation, M&A transactions, JVs, strategic alliances, public/private partnerships, geopolitics, and sustainability advisory services for CEOs, C-Suite executives, and corporate board directors of Fortune 100 companies and private equity and venture capital firms in the healthcare, life sciences, consumer, and technology sectors. He has held various senior Life Sciences & Healthcare leadership roles where he has advised on some of the largest mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, spins, and transformations in the healthcare, life sciences, and consumer health sectors. He previously served as the Global Client Service Partner for Johson & Johnson and Thermo Fisher Scientific and Senior Advisory Partner for BMS and Advocate Health. He is particularly passionate about the intersection of healthcare, life sciences and technology. He is also Senior Advisor at Google X.
He is both an entrepreneur having started technology and real estate ventures and an intrapreneur having founded several successful practices, alliances, and service offerings with EY and previously Deloitte. In 2014, he received a Presidential Appointment by President Barack Obama to the Global Board of Governors of the USO. He served on Goldman Sach’s Launch with GS Advisory Board. He is a member of the Partnership for NYC (PFNYC) where he has served on the Partnership Fund’s Healthcare Advisory Board and Innovation Council. He is a David Rockefeller Fellow and a member of the Aspen Institute Business & Society Board of Advisors, the Executive Leadership Council (ELC) and the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO).
He is a passionate social entrepreneur having launched various award-winning social change and impact ventures in publishing, documentary and feature filmmaking, civil rights, and philanthropy. He co-authored The Strategic Side Gig, published in Harvard Business Review Magazine and in HBR’s 10 Must Reads On Career Resilience book.
