Meet the USO’s Newest Global Ambassador: Actor David Boreanaz

By Kristen Loflin

For generations, the USO has brought moments of connection to service members around the world through the power of entertainment. Whether through global USO tours or special visits at home, the list of entertainers who have dedicated their time to giving back our nation’s Armed Forces is quite extensive, ranging from the indomitable Bob Hope to Toby Keith, each leaving behind a unique legacy.

Today, a new generation of entertainers has stepped up to provide service members with a touch of home, often when they need it most. Acting as a bridge between the military community and the American public, these USO entertainers not only express our nation’s gratitude for those serving but also help raise awareness around the important USO mission of strengthening the well-being of service members and their families. Proudly known as USO Global Ambassadors, these individuals often have a deep connection and appreciation for the military.

In 2026, we welcome our newest USO Global Ambassador: actor, director and producer David Boreanaz.

Support from the Screen to In-Person

David’s appreciation for – and connection to – service members has been a staple in his life since childhood. He grew up listening to his father on the radio waves of the American Forces Network (AFN), the television and radio broadcast service for U.S. military stationed or deployed overseas, where his father worked as a broadcaster. Throughout his own career as an actor, David gravitated toward military-tied roles on “SEAL Team” and “Bones,” tapping into this familiarity with the military for inspiration on the screen and behind the camera as a producer and director.

David Boreanaz, Paramount+’s “SEAL Team” actor, speaks with service members on his USO Entertainment Tour to Missouri.

As a longtime supporter of the people who serve, David’s role as a USO Global Ambassador is a natural fit. However, this is not the first time David has joined the USO in supporting the military community. In 2024, David visited service members at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois and Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri, where he shared meals with them and hosted an advanced screening of the “SEAL Team” season seven premiere. He has also visited Marine Corps Base Quantico, the National Museum of the Marine Corps, the Pentagon and Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, providing a morale boost to service members stationed and recovering in the National Capital Region.

“Joining the USO as a Global Ambassador is truly an honor,” said David. “I’ll never forget my first USO tour; the experience was incredibly humbling. Connecting with service members, hearing their stories and sharing that sense of mutual inspiration left a lasting impression on me. I’m proud to continue working alongside the USO and look forward to building even more meaningful relationships with those who serve.”

David will make his first official USO Global Ambassador appearance at the annual USO Gala in Washington, D.C. on April 16, 2026, joining government, military and business leaders, along with other USO supporters, to honor our military community and the USO Service Members of the Year.
