For generations, the USO has brought moments of connection to service members around the world through the power of entertainment. Whether it is tours or special visits at home and abroad, the list of entertainers is quite extensive, ranging from Bing Crosby to Toby Keith, and of course the indomitable Bob Hope, whose legacy still lives on at the USO.
Today, a new generation of entertainers has stepped up to provide service members with a touch of home, often when they need it most. Acting as a bridge between the military community and the American public, these USO entertainers not only express our nation’s gratitude for those serving but also help raise awareness of the important USO mission of strengthening the well-being of service members and their families. Proudly known as USO Global Ambassadors, these individuals often have a deep connection and appreciation for the military.
In 2026, we welcome our newest USO Global Ambassador: acclaimed chef, television host and restaurateur Tyler Florence!
A Passion for Food and a Heart for Service
It’s no secret that food brings people together. Many holidays are celebrated around the table. Friends often make dinner dates amidst busy schedules. The positive emotions surrounding a delicious meal are needed more now than ever for our service members who are navigating increased operations and high-pressure situations.
Known for his storytelling and ability to foster connection through his love for cuisine, Tyler looks forward to participating in events, USO Center visits, future programs and delicious culinary activations that will bring comfort and care to those serving.
“We’re thrilled to be part of the great history of the USO,” said Tyler. “I’m honored to serve as a Global Ambassador and excited for all of the adventures ahead, creating great food, great memories and meaningful moments with service members all over the world.”
