JOINT BASE ANDREWS, Maryland—David Letterman shares a story from his 2003 USO tour to Iraq before taking the stage for the “Celebration of Service” event honoring the USO’s 75th anniversary and the fifth anniversary of Joining Forces.

After witnessing an act of heroism by the U.S. Coast Guard as a child, Lt j.g. Hannah C. Walter decided early on that she wanted to join the military and become a Coastie. Now, more than two decades later, she not only has a successful career in the Coast Guard, she also recently participated in the USO’s inaugural Dancing with the Stars and Stripes showcase at Fleet Week Fort Lauderdale.
