Actors Matthew Lillard and Seth Green teamed with the USO and traveled all the way to Incirlik Air Base, Turkey, last month to show their appreciation for service members deployed overseas.

The base, less than 100 miles from the Syrian border, was the backdrop for a USO tour featuring a visit to the USO center on base, multiple meet-and-greet sessions, lots of photos with troops and even more laughs.

Lillard, who traveled to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, on a USO tour with actors Robert Patrick and Michael Irby in March, is a longtime USO supporter and has traveled around the world numerous times to bring a piece of America to troops stationed overseas. Green, who is best known for his roles in the Austin Powers trilogy and his work on “Family Guy,” “Robot Chicken” and a slew of other TV and film roles, was amazed by his first USO experience and both he and Lillard attracted quite a crowd on base.

“I had an amazing time in Turkey with the USO visiting with the brave volunteers of the U.S. Armed Forces who are selflessly protecting our borders and keeping the peace,” Green said. “The camaraderie I was offered is unrivaled - getting to meet face-to-face [with our troops] made me even more proud to be American.”

Actor Seth Green teamed with the USO and traveled all the way to Incirlik Air Base, Turkey, last month to show his appreciation for service members deployed overseas.

In addition to connecting with service members and signing autographs, the duo played pool with troops at USO Incirlik, took a tour of UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter and Skyped with service members they couldn’t reach in person.

In a statement, Lillard said he takes great pride in going on USO tours and said that traveling in Black Hawk helicopters allowed he and Green to reach remote bases and make a huge impact on the service members stationed at those outposts. He said the trip to Turkey was amazing because he and Green engaged with service members who hadn’t had a taste of home in a long time.

“On USO tours, we have two missions,” he said. “One is to tell the men and women of our military that we are grateful for their service and we don’t take lightly their commitment. The other is to change the dynamic of their days and bring with us a moment of joy. I’m proud to say, on both accounts, our mission was a huge success!”
