It’s a cause for celebration.

With help from thousands of customers, Marie Callender’s Comforts From Home Project reached its goal of raising $300,000 for USO Operation Celebration, a program that provides a “home away from home” for our service members stationed around the world to make sure every holiday, small or large, is celebrated.

“By supporting the USO’s Operation Celebration program, Marie Callender’s is helping us bridge the gap between home and our service members,” said USO Chief Development Officer Lisa Anastasi. “From the Fourth of July to Thanksgiving, the USO is dedicated to helping service members enjoy every holiday with the comforts of home that can often be taken for granted.”

In addition to the product promotion, Marie Callender’s partnered with Scripps Networks to highlight service members and military families on three popular television shows – Food Network’s “Guy’s Grocery Games,” “Travel Channel’s American Heroes” and “Kitchen Crashers” on HGTV and DIY Network.

The Marie Callender’s Comforts From Home Project also visited a USO center in El Paso, Texas, for a makeover. Years had passed since the center was last updated, and it was beginning to show the wear and tear of welcoming 4,500 visitors a month. Furniture was updated, seating was increased and new paint freshened the center and gave it a warm, welcoming feel for visitors.

You can send a message of support and thanks directly to service members via the USO’s Campaign to Connect. Your messages will appear on screens at USO locations around the world.
