75 Years of USO Connections

The USO is celebrating 75 years of keeping America’s service members connected to the things they love and work to defend: family, home and country.

From a World War II USO volunteer to former Army Capt. Florent Groberg - a Medal of Honor recipient and Afghanistan War veteran - these stories help us understand what the USO has meant to service members deployed across the world for the last 75 years.

After witnessing an act of heroism by the U.S. Coast Guard as a child, Lt j.g. Hannah C. Walker decided early on that she wanted to join the military and become a Coastie. Now, more than two decades later, she not only has a successful career in the Coast Guard, she also recently participated in the USO’s inaugural Dancing with the Stars and Stripes showcase at Fleet Week Fort Lauderdale.
