Bank of America is sponsoring the landmark documentary by Ken Burns and Lynn Novick, “The Vietnam War,” coming to PBS September 17. The 10-part, 18-hour documentary series tells the epic story of one of the most consequential, divisive and controversial events in American history as it has never before been told on film.

Music was a defining common experience during the Vietnam War. The songs that emerged during the era shaped the conversations of a generation. That’s why Bank of America worked with contemporary artists, such as The Lumineers – who are USO tour veterans – to cover songs from the Vietnam era. The multimedia content experience available on the popular music-streaming service Spotify connects new generations to the dialogue around the war through the shared language of music.

In recognition of The Lumineers’ involvement in the project, Bank of America is providing a philanthropic investment to the USO, a longstanding partner of the bank. “The Vietnam War” experience debuts on Spotify September 15.
