The USO, along with military and business leaders from around the country gathered to recognize Linda Parker Hudson, President and CEO of BAE Systems, Inc. as the 2011 Woman of the Year. Hudson and several female military leaders were honored for their leadership and commitment to country in a luncheon attended by more than 300 guests at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel.
Additional honorees included Rear Admiral Michelle Howard, Staff Sergeant Tannia Carter, Sergeant Sara Bryant, Seaman Judith Mae Boyce, Captain Wendy Sue Buckingham and Petty Officer Bonnie Lynne Wysocki.

USO Supports the Coast Guard and Their Families During Government Shutdown
Of the five branches in the U.S. Armed Forces, the Coast Guard is the only branch currently working without pay due to the government shutdown – the longest in U.S. history. USO centers across the country have rallied in support of the Coast Guard to help service members and their families make ends meet.
