Lucky in love, Pvt. Chase and Brittany Howard were unlucky in timing.
Despite several tries, the demands of Howard’s Army service prevented them from tying the knot.
When Howard found out he was going to have a four-day pass over Martin Luther King Jr. Day weekend, he called home with a question: can we pull a wedding off this week?
His mother called the USO, and with some quick planning and a few good Skype connections - one with Chase’s father in Afghanistan and another with Brittany’s parents at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash. - the Howards had a day to remember at the USO Warrior and Family Center in Fort Belvoir, Va.
Every day, America’s service members selflessly put their lives on the line to keep us safe and free. Please take a moment to let our troops know how much we appreciate their service and sacrifice.
