New Orleans Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan, Miami Dolphins cornerback Byron Maxwell and Tennessee Titans tight end Delanie Walker recently wrapped up the second day of a weeklong USO/NFL tour to Southwest Asia.

The group met service members stationed at Camp Buehring, Kuwait, two undisclosed locations in Southwest Asia and in the U.S. Fifth Fleet area of operations. While onsite, the trio visited military units, participated in three re-enlistment ceremonies, met with base leadership, tour numerous flight lines and visited USO Camp Buehring – one of more than 200 USO locations worldwide.

This trip was the first USO tour for all three players and was part of the NFL’s Salute to Service partnership with the USO. The group cheered on service members as they participated in military-themed athletic competitions. With activities ranging from an obstacle course and tug-of-war, to a Humvee push featuring troops, Jordan, Maxwell and Walker were front-and-center for the excitement.

Traveling to Southwest Asia to connect with deployed service members was a meaningful experience for Walker, a two-time Pro Bowl selection.

“I’m worry-free at home, thanks to these people here,“ he said. "Being able to see some of the training that the service members go through is eye-opening. … These young men and women are ready to give up their lives to protect our country and I’m thankful to them for that.”
