The holidays can be both a time of celebration and nostalgia, as well as a time of difficulty when apart from home and loved ones. If you are a service member, USO Holidays programs, events and activities are an opportunity to build bonds with your fellow service members, feel connected to home and know that you are not forgotten. If you are a military family, USO Holidays are a way to gain a sense of normalcy in a new community or unfamiliar country, all while making shared family memories.

Regardless of the day on the calendar or season, USO Holidays are intended to offer the people who serve and military families a break from their daily missions and stressors, and to give them a reason to celebrate again. USO Holidays programming and events allow you to continue the traditions that matter the most and share them with others, no matter where in the world your service takes you.

How It Works

  • Active duty, Reserve or National Guard service members, and military family members, can participate at most of our 250+ USO Centers around the globe, as well as through expeditionary visits and support to remote locations without a USO Center nearby.
  • Find your local USO Center to learn about upcoming local USO Holidays events in your area.

What Service Members and Military Families Receive:

  • Holiday themed programs, activities and events throughout the calendar year.
  • Events and activities such as traditional home-cooked meals, arts and crafts, fun-runs, holiday-themed games, music nights and more.
  • As a service member stationed or deployed far from home, you’ll have the opportunity to bond with your fellow service members and to still feel connected to home during the holiday season.
  • For military families, you’ll have the chance to celebrate the season, even when separated from loved ones, and bond with other military spouses and children.
  • Winter Holiday Care Packages shipped to those in remote expeditionary locations, which can include socks, beanies, hand warmers, candy, instant coffee and a holiday card with a note of support from the USO.
