Our Work: Salute to Service
Salute to Service is the NFL’s military appreciation platform, which financially supports three military nonprofits, including the USO. Military appreciation has been part of the fabric of the NFL’s community efforts for decades – from USO tours starting in the 1960’s, to weekly appreciation efforts by clubs in stadiums and in communities. For the NFL, Salute to Service is a year-round platform for its 32 teams and players to recognize, honor and celebrate servicemen and women, veterans and their families.

The USO and the NFL are a Winning Team
For 50 years, the USO and NFL have joined forces to keep service members connected to family, home and country. More than 180 NFL players, officials, coaches and executives have taken part in 49 tours to 24 countries during that span, creating a partnership that has become essential to both organizations.
ABOUT: Celebrating 50 Years Together
For the past 50 years, the NFL has supported the USO in a variety of ways, from NFL player and coach tours visiting service members around the world to helping to fund new facilities such as the USO Pat Tillman Center in Afghanistan. Through the Salute to Service initiative, the NFL has recently made a new $5 million commitment to support new USO programming, center expansion and renovations at more than 180 USO locations worldwide. This commitment will allow the USO to reach more service members and military families ensuring they stay connected to the grateful nation they chose to defend.
