The USO partnered with 20th Century Fox to treat over 1,100 deployed military personnel and their families to a sneak peek of the much anticipated movie, A Good Day to Die Hard.
On Feb. 5, an advance screening of the latest film in the Die Hard franchise was shown to approximately 400 servicemen and women and their families based at Germany’s Ramstein Air Base. After the movie, actor Jai Courtney and director John Moore surprised the audience and extended their gratitude to the troops for the jobs they do. Courtney and Moore mingled with troops for autographs and photos and handed out an array of promotional items. The film was then taken to Kuwait for a Feb. 11 screening. Over 700 troops attended the event at Camp Arifjan, hosted by film editor Dan Zimmerman.
“It was a touching experience to visit the men, women and families who live and work at Ramstein Air Base in Germany,” Courtney said. “It's one thing to play an action hero but these people are the real deal and are infinitely more deserving of the applause. We were thrilled to be invited by the USO to visit and extend our gratitude for their tireless contribution to the armed forces and the protection of the United States."
The Germany event was the first showing of the film before its nationwide release on Feb. 14.
Filmed primarily in Budapest, Hungary, A Good Day to Die Hard is the fifth installment of the Die Hard blockbuster franchise starring actor and USO tour veteran Bruce Willis.
