Mobile USO Features
The Mobile USO program is designed to bring the USO's "special brand" of services directly to service members stationed in remote and isolated areas. Each Mobile USO has three compartments: a lounge, Internet and gaming area, and café/canteen in the rear.
Lounge
Comfortably seating 10 adults, the lounge is equipped with books, magazines and a 46-inch LCD television with state-of-the-art home theater and digital satellite television systems and an Xbox 360 gaming system. Playing cards and board games are also available.
Internet and Gaming Area
The Internet Café offers troops four laptop stations for checking e-mail, printing and faxing documents or searching the Internet. Each station is also outfitted with Xbox 360 gaming systems, with the ability to play individually or against other Xbox 360 consoles networked within the vehicle. The mobile is also equipped with 10 laptops for use throughout the mobile.
Café/Canteen
The rear of the vehicle features a café/canteen with three commercial grade coffee makers, two sets of refrigerator/freezers and two microwaves.
Bridging Local Communities
The Mobile USOs’ mobility allows local communities and organizations to come together and show their support to service members and their families. The vehicles, based in Las Vegas, Chicago and Hampton Roads/Norfolk, Va., will be on the road throughout the U.S., serving our men and women in uniform and raising awareness about the USO.
