In Sept. 2007, the Central Region Mobile USO brought the USO to bases and events ranging from Cleveland, Ohio, to Fort Leavenworth, Kan. They served more than 2,500 service men and women, and built support for the military amongst 1,900 event attendees.
Fort McCoy, Wis., Base Visit

The Central Region Mobile USO delivered USO programs and services to more than 1,500 service members stationed at Fort McCoy, Wis, Sept. 5-9. On Friday, the Mobile USO staff hosted a “Thank Goodness its Friday (TGIF) cupcake delivery” program. They visited many of the buildings on base and delivered free cupcakes along with a note of support on behalf of the USO. On Saturday, the Mobile USO set up a “tailgate party” where they broadcasted two NFL football games and an Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) program. Refreshments were also served.
In addition to the cupcakes and tailgating, service members also connected with friends and family online, using the Mobile USO’s 4 laptops. Additionally, the Mobile USO offered the United Through Reading® Military Program, which helped 46 service members connect with the special child in their life.
