PHOTOS: 'Sons of Anarchy' Actors Stir Up Crowds on Pacific USO Tour

Friday, March 15, 2013

Actors from the popular FX original series "Sons of Anarchy" are enjoying their week-long USO tour to lift the spirits of troops in the Pacific.

Kim Coates, Mark Boone Junior and Dayton Callie are stopping at several posts throughout Japan, Guam and Hawaii to extend their gratitude for the jobs they perform in defense of our country. The trio are USO tour veterans with their most recent appearance occuring last year at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in 29 Palms, Calif.

Actor Mark Boone Junior spends some time with troops and military families of Coastal Riverine Group One, Detachment Guam on March 16.

Boone and Kim Coates share some laughs with troops in Guam.

Coates chats with the Marines and sailors of Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 12 on March 14.

"This has been an eye-opening experience for me," Coates said. "On our first USO tour, we visited deployed servicemen and women in Kuwait and Iraq. This time we were able to meet the families behind the brave men and women who serve our country; it was a humbling experience."

Coates signs a "Sons of Anarchy" shirt for Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Jesus Aguilar on March 14, as Callie looks on.

Callie said: "As a Vietnam veteran, I know how much it means to hear that your service means something and that America recognizes your sacrifices. That’s why going on these USO tours means so much to me: it’s a chance for me to say 'thank you' to my brothers and sisters in the armed forces."

"I was hooked after my first USO tour; it was an honor being able to personally thank our troops for their service," Boone said. "Every day, military families are making sacrifices for our nation and I’m just glad that I get to tell them how much we appreciate everything that they do."
