Photos: Rocsi Diaz on Second USO Tour Visits Aviano Air Base on 9/11
Wednesday, September 12, 2012
Rocsi Diaz embarked on her second USO tour this week to visit with troops and military families in Italy. After making her first stop at Vicenza High School to talk to students earlier in the week, Diaz made a special 9/11 visit to Aviano Air Force Base yesterday to spend time with our servicemen and women.
Diaz visited with troops serving on each of the squadrons on base, personally thanking the men and women for their service. She spent time learning about the various roles in each squadron, trying on different gear and just having a good laugh with the troops. Her agenda also comprised of a meal with some of the troops as well as a talk with students of Aviano Middle School to address the importance of education along with the issues they may face throughout their student career – a major focus for her tour. She also took the opportunity to speak with students individually after her talk.
Diaz will be making one more stop in Italy to spend time with troops, military families and military children before wrapping up her USO tour this week.
