A talented voice-over actor and singer headlined and captivated the wounded troops and caretakers at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center (LRMC) for their Annual Holiday Ball last weekend.

Rachael MacFarlane, singer and co-star of the Emmy®-nominated animated television show “American Dad!,” wrapped her first USO tour where she left behind a trail of laughs, smiles and good times for troops and their families stationed in Germany. The celebrated voice-over actress spent quality time with the wounded, ill and injured servicemen and women and their caretakers and LRMC staff and extended America’s thanks.

“I have always felt a great affection toward our service men and women and support them in every way that I can,” MacFarlane wrote via email prior to her trip. “My husband's family has been in every branch of our military for generations. My involvement in the USO sparked from an idea a producer of ‘American Dad!’ had and I asked my manager if he could set something up. Next thing I know, I'm doing a USO show and looking forward to many more!!”

MacFarlane’s trip allowed her to pay homage to the military that has meant so much to her family while also helping support the USO.

“I feel that the USO is an integral part of our military and without them, we might not have the greatest military in the world,” she wrote. “There is no greater morale booster than the USO.”

“I want to bring them a little piece of home, help them celebrate the holidays with music and laughter and in every way, keep spirits strong and share a sense of family,” she wrote via email prior to the trip. “I want to let them know that everyone back home supports their great efforts.”
