Monday, July 07, 2014
WASHINGTON--It was a night of presidents, loud pops and Pitbull as The White House opened its doors to nearly 1,200 troops and military family members July 4 for the Salute to the Military USO Concert.
Guests were greeted by President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle, on Friday night as the sun set behind the South Lawn. The military families also got to enjoy a barbecue dinner, lawn games, photo stands and even a meet-and-greet with Washington Nationals mascots The Racing Presidents. When dusk finally settled, multi-platinum recording artist Pitbull took the stage for an hour-long concert that led into the annual fireworks display over the National Mall.
