Multi-Platinum Hard Rock Band Drowning Pool Sets Out on Third USO Tour
Tuesday, April 09, 2013
Two-time USO tour vets Drowning Pool, a multi-platinum hard rock band featuring members C.J. Pierce, Stevie Benton, Mike Luce and Jasen Moreno, will be taking time out from their 17-day European tour to thank our troops and their families. From May 1-8, 2013, Drowning Pool will hold three USO/Armed Forces Entertainment concerts around bases in the United Kingdom and Germany.
Drowning Pool has a history of lifting the spirits of our servicemen and women out in the field. The band’s first-ever USO tour was held in 2005 in Kuwait. In 2006, the band revisited Kuwait and made stops in Iraq and Germany. To date, Drowning Pool has held 16 USO concerts and performed for more than 20,000 troops. The band's third USO tour will be a first for Drowning Pool’s newest member and lead vocalist Jasen Moreno, who joined the band in 2012.
“Our USO shows and all military shows for that matter have been one of the most humbling experiences this band has ever had. For us, as entertainers, there’s no better reward than putting on a rock show for our troops,” said guitarist C.J. Pierce on behalf of Drowning Pool. “Our troops will always have continual support from us, Drowning Pool. Always in our hearts, always in our minds.”
Drowning Pool recently hosted an album release party for their fifth album, Resilience, in their hometown of Dallas, Texas. Servicemen and women stationed in the area were invited to meet the band members and celebrate the release of their latest album. More than 100 guests were in attendance, and all proceeds from the event will be donated to the USO to help provide programs and services for troops and their families.
