PHOTOS: 'Sons of Anarchy' Show Their Appreciation to Troops in Calif.

Monday, May 14, 2012

The "Sons of Anarchy" rode into Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center (MCAGCC) in 29 Palms, Calif., to extend their gratitude to the servicemen and women and their families for their sacrifice and service to our country last Friday.

Actors Ron Perlman, Theo Rossi and Dayton Callie (himself a Vietnam War veteran) represented the wildly successful FX original series, marking the second time that the show has taken time to thank the troops through a USO event. (In 2010, Rossi, Callie, Kim Coates and Mark Boone Junior visited more than 2,000 troops stationed in Kuwait and Iraq.)

“The men and women who support our country are the real stars, and they deserve to know that America appreciates their hard work, dedication and the sacrifices they and their families make everyday," Perlman said. "That's why taking part in this USO visit was so important to me."

USO tour veteran and actor Theo Rossi poses for a photo with a fan while he signed autographs for hundreds of service members and their families.

Rossi said: "Being able to travel to Kuwait and Iraq on my first USO tour and visit troops was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and it gave me an even greater respect for all that they sacrifice. Being able to show that same support to troops and their families here in California, where we film the show, is something I am just as honored to do."

"As a veteran, the respect and gratitude I have for the men and women who defend our country is immeasurable," Callie said. "I am grateful to the USO for the opportunity to be able to tell our troops face-to-face how much their service is appreciated."

Theo Rossi gets some info as he goes for a ride on an M1 tank at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center.

"The best line I always hear from most of our heroes who serve is that your show helped me get through my deployment, that our show gave them a little piece of home when they were in a foreign land," Rossi said. "Can't ask for anything better than that."

Dayton Callie gives a thumbs-up as he goes for a spin in the M1.

"Ron, Theo and I had a great day at 29 Palms, it was an amazing experience," Callie said. "I can't wait to work with the USO again and to continue to show my support for our men and women in uniform."
