USO Opens Center in Las Vegas

USO Opens Center in Las Vegas

As the holidays draw near, the USO has opened a warm pit stop for servicemen and women traveling through Las Vegas’s McCarran International Airport to enjoy.

The new 2,830 square foot facility USO center reflects the glamour of Las Vegas while housing the customary comforts that military members and their families have come to expect. High-definition televisions, a movie theater, a snack bar and lounges are filled with 20 laptop and computer stations with Wi-Fi connectivity, a video gaming area with Xbox® and Sony PlayStation® consoles. Photos of Las Vegas and USO tour stops color the walls.

Legendary entertainer and Las Vegas icon Wayne Newton and Nevada Senator John Ensign (R) joined USO President Sloan Gibson at the ribbon-cutting.

"We are thrilled to open this center at McCarran International Airport to support service members and their families," Gibson said. "Four and a half months ago, USO Las Vegas was an empty first-class lounge for travelers, but now, it is a first-class lounge for our first class military. Thank you to the Las Vegas community for helping make this center a reality."

USO Las Vegas is expected to service over 55,000 troops and family members stationed in and transitioning through the Las Vegas region. The center was made possible by the generous support of the Las Vegas Community, the Nevada Congressional Delegation, Sands Corporation, the Clark County Board of Commissioners and McCarran International Airport officials.
